Ex-Credit Suisse VP Sues Bank For £13.5million
The Ukrainian banker claimed she was sexually discriminated against and chosen for redundancy as a direct result of her maternity leave…
Cue employment tribunal.
Oksana Denysenko, now in her late 30s, told the tribunal that Credit Suisse had not allowed her to return to her role when she went back to work in May 2007. She said that she had been forced instead to jobshare with a fellow Ukrainian she had nominated as her maternity cover before eventually being made redundant. The tribunal found in her favour but the size of the award is yet to be decided.
Daily Mail: Judge George Foxwell, sitting at the East London employment tribunal, said: ‘We are satisfied that the fact that the claimant had taken maternity leave and had ongoing responsibilities as a mother continued to her selection for redundancy.’
Credit Suisse was obvioulsy disappointed and has denied any wrongdoing.
