Time to remove oneself from the sofa and renew efforts on the jobs front. Or start looking around again for greener pastures if you got trapped in were  lucky enough to keep your current job during the crisis.

January normally sees a dramatic rise in recruitment prospects compared to December due to the inevitable dive preceeding the holidays. The 60% bounce at the start of this year was particularly strong but was not expected to continue at the same rate. However, it looks like there is some momentum.

Professional services recruiter, Michael Page, said it was being asked to find twice as many bankers in the UK as it was a year ago. Which it is pleased about – 2009 was apparently an “extreme test” of strategy for the business according to the BBC.

Applicants might need a suitcase though – the strongest markets remain outside Europe in Latin America, Asia and Australia.
