Swiss Seducing More Bankers With Sexy Tax Regime
Sexy might not be quite the right expression but…
Our increasingly uncertain tax regime just doesn’t appear favourable by comparison for keeping talent on these shores.
City AM: UP to 200 Credit Suisse investment bankers could be relocated to Switzerland in order to avoid the 50 per cent “super tax” implemented by the Government earlier this year.
The tax covers bonuses awarded between 9 December 2009 and 5 April next year.
Swiss newspaper NZZ am Sonntag also said UBS was considering a similar move and had in December mulled over moving posts out of London.
Put another way. Would you prefer to see large chunks of your hard earned sucked up and wasted on a country deep in the mire where the trains rarely run on time. Or would you prefer to go somewhere clean, well run and kinder to your bank balance.
And famous for Rolexes.
