Macquarie Banker Caught Checking Miranda Kerr’s Stats – At Home Awaiting Fate
David Kiely, repidly becoming Australia’s best known banker, is taking some involuntary time out…
If you didn’t see Tuesday’s video of the hapless employee at Australian bank, Macquarie, looking at racy photos of a model whilst being recorded on live TV, click here.
The incident has sparked a national debate in Oz about internet policies at work and led to an announcement by the bank…
Inc: Macquarie announced that the bank “takes matters such as the unacceptable use of technology extremely seriously” and that the matter “is being dealt with internally.”
The bank – currently expanding in the U.S. – proceeded to e-mail its 11,500 staff worldwide with a copy of its Internet policy, telling them to “familiarise themselves,” reported The Australian newspaper. Kiely – who’s worked at the bank nicknamed the “Millionaire Factory” for three years – has been at home since the incident, awaiting a decision on his fate. It’s expected later this week.
Rumour has it that the guy may have been set up by a colleague who knew the filming was going on but, that aside, does he really deserve the chop?
There was no really naughty stuff on display there; not even a nipple. Some sort of example will have to be made obviously -Â a large proportion of the international banking community have seen the incident – but outright dismissal would be a little harsh.
