The Church of England is coming to the rescue of the hedgies. It has raised its concerns about proposed European alternative investments directives which include a limit on leverage and require the use of European banks.

The Church, a major hedge fund investor, is afraid that the proposals will restrict its ability to “generate funds to pursue our charitable missions and thus reduce our impact for public good.”

The Church, a major hedge fund investor, is afraid that the proposals will restrict its ability to “generate funds to pursue our charitable missions and thus reduce our impact for public good.”

This moral support for the Hedgies comes barely a fortnight after Church of England leaders attacked the battered money men.

In a letter to the House of Lord’s EU select committee various representatives of a more spiritual master of the universe claimed, “Maximizing the returns on our investment portfolios is an essential part of delivering our Foundations’ missions, for the benefit of society.”

Mysterious ways indeed.
